Osteoporosis

Combined Yoga and Pilates method

The training

Osteoporosis is a disease characterized by excessive skeletal fragility, due to a decrease in bone mass and alteration of bone microarchitecture. It is a common condition in postmenopausal women because bone mass decreases with age and with the deficiency of female hormones (estrogens). It affects men less often than women and is rare in children. It is a significant risk factor for bone fractures. Mini-fractures often form in the upper anterior plane of the spine without even being noticed.

There are postural changes: the individuals concerned stand hunched over, their shoulders fall forward and their upper back is rounded.

In this Yoga and Pilates training dedicated to the treatment of osteoporosis, you will benefit from a complete program offering you a total immersion in this therapeutic practice.

By joining our training program, you will have access to highly qualified instructors who possess extensive expertise in the field of osteoporosis and bone strengthening techniques.

The first part of the training will focus on the fundamentals of Yoga and Pilates, allowing you to develop a solid understanding of the basic principles of applying these disciplines to this condition. You will learn essential breathing techniques to promote relaxation and reduce stress, as it is well known that chronic stress can contribute to bone loss. Through specific exercises, you will also learn to improve balance and coordination, which is crucial for preventing falls and fractures in people with osteoporosis.

As the training progresses, you will be introduced to more advanced Yoga sequences and Pilates exercises, specifically adapted for people with osteoporosis. You will discover postures that target areas most vulnerable to fractures, such as the spine, hips, and wrists. The instructors will carefully guide you, showing you how to modify these postures to avoid excessive stress on fragile bones.

In addition to physical aspects, our training will also emphasize the importance of a balanced diet for maintaining optimal bone health. You will receive expert nutritional advice, enabling you to choose foods rich in calcium, vitamin D, and other essential nutrients for bone health.
