Prevention and treatment
This module is an integral part of our continuous education training.
This method combines both Yoga and Pilates techniques.
Osteoporosis is a condition characterised by an excessive weakness of the skeleton, due to the wasting of bone mass and the changes in the micro-bone structure.
It is a common affliction amongst women after the menopause, due to the fact that bone mass decreases with age and also because of the resulting hormone deficiencies (particularly oestrogen). Men are less affected than women, as are children.
Osteoporosis is an important risk factor when it comes to broken bones. Mini-fractures often occur on the upper anterior plane of the spine without even being noticed.
Postural changes occur, and effected individuals often have hunched shoulders and a rounded upper back.
With this training you will learn how to create a suitable session to strengthen the bones, muscles and core, while taking into account the contre-indications of the disease. The body’s physiology and practice will also be addressed. The purpose of the training is to be able to deliver a lesson adapted to the needs of sufferers, with both preventative and curative elements incorporated.
