Module 1
- Introduction and tradition of Yoga
- Vinyasa Yoga – Pranayama – (breathing exercises)
- The chakras and the energetic system
- Muladhara Chakra (root chakra)
- Anatomy and physiology of the human body, muscle and skeletal systems
- Types of yoga postures: hip openers, back bending, twists, arm balancing, standing postures, inversions
- Surya Namaskar A and B, analysis and practice

Module 2
- Uddyana Bandha, Mulabandha and Jalandarabandha, blockages
- Anatomy of the bandhas, anatomy of the abdominals: function and activation of abdominal muscles
- Anatomy and function of the Pelvic Floor, risks associated with weakness of the pelvic floor
- The bandhas – how to activate the bandhas
- History of Yoga – the vedic and tantric times
- Study of traditional yoga texts: Upanishad
- Create a Power Yoga class with focus “Hip Opening” – muscles to be stretched and counter postures to harmonise movement and maintain balance

Module 3
- The different yoga styles and Yoga masters: Krischnamajara, Pattabhi Jois, Sharat, Ylengar and the western masters like Baron Baptiste, Brian Kest, Shiva Rea and Jjivamukti
- Analysis of the practice: Asthanga Yoga – Primary Series
- Anatomy of the back and the rotator cuff
- Yoga Sutra and the interpretation of Desikachar
- Chakras 2, 3 and 4 – create a yoga class to stimulate these chakras
- Partner Teach
- Pranayama – breathing techniques
- Meditation techniques

Module 4
- Pranayama practice
- The 8 limbs of Raja Yoga – how to progress from pranayama, respiration, to pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) Differentiate Dharana and Dhyana, concentration and meditation
- Analysis of the practice: Chakra stimulation class by a participant
- Chakras 5, 6 and 7 – compare different class structures
- Partner Teach
- Anatomy and physiology of the human body, movements on the sagittal, coronal and transvers pane
- The major muscles for flexion and extension of the hip, shoulder, back, elbow, knee. Lateral flexion and twists Lateral flexions and twists
- Yoga Sutra: interpretation of Desikachar – chapter 3 – evolution of traditional scripture and application to today
- Moving meditation

Module 5
- Create a yoga class focus “backbends and twists”
- Physiological principles: muscles to stretch/strengthen for preparation, counter postures
- Analysis of the practice: Chakra opening and hip opening classes by a participant
- Anatomy and physiology, pathologies, prevention and healing through the practice of Yoga
- Yoga for pregnant women
- Partner Yoga, principles and application in yoga therapy
- Ahimsa – non violence
- Samadhi – definition and interpretation adapted to our times
- Meditation
Dates : 02 & 03 October 2021
Module 6
- Analysis of the practice, 3 yoga classes by participants: Partner yoga, twists, backbends
- Kriyas, purification methods
- Prana: breath, energy
- Anatomy and physiology: Yoga Therapy, specific classes for specific conditions
- Revision of the Power Yoga book, discussion and questions
Dates : 06 &07 November 2021
Our training courses are certified
Exam evaluation
Prerequisites: having attended a private session with an interview in our studio before registration – Cycle 2 prerequisite = already Certified Cycle 1
test 2 months after the last module
Practical test:
Hand in a document detailing 30 hours of classes given to one or more students, including personal details (email..)
In addition to following the courses as part of the certification, 30 classes need to be taken in a Power Vinyasa Yoga studio, following completion of the modules
The certificate Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher is issues from 80% of your complete evaluation
